Apples are being harvested in Iburi's Soubetsu Town to use as PR for next year's Toyako Summit.

Notice the sticker on the slightly red apple. When the sticker is peeled off it reveals “TOYAKO SUMMIT SOBETSU” branded on the skin of the apple.

Last month, farmers put these stickers on about 1000 apples to make the special G8 Summit apples.
Farmers’ expectations about this year’s harvest have increased because of the summer heat and moderate rains.

Harvested apples will be distributed as gifts at summit-related meetings.
